New Broker Pulse Program Set to Revolutionize Commercial Lending Insights
In a move set to reshape the landscape for commercial brokers, a new program called Broker Pulse: Commercial Lending has been introduced, offering fresh insights into the commercial lending market. This initiative aims to spotlight the expertise of commercial brokers, emphasizing their crucial role in the financial sector.
Launching today, the Broker Pulse program will produce engaging content by tapping into the experiences and knowledge of hundreds of mortgage, finance, and commercial brokers. This effort will build a community-driven resource for brokers, lenders, media, and regulators.
Collaborating with the Commercial & Asset Finance Brokers Association of Australia (CAFBA) and the technology and data provider Lend, the program is designed to provide brokers with a consistent and reliable source of insights. This will enable brokers to benchmark their commercial activities and help lenders assess their offerings against those of third-party channels.
The Broker Pulse: Residential Lending program has been successfully highlighting lender service levels since 2019, and this new commercial lending initiative is poised to bring similar advancements to the commercial broking field.
Michael Johnson, director of Agile Market Intelligence, spoke about the program’s vision: “We aim to foster a feedback-rich environment that propels industry improvements and positions brokers as leaders in lending and business confidence.”
The program will supply CAFBA with vital industry data and insights, enhancing their ability to advocate for brokers’ interests and influence policy and regulatory decisions. Each monthly report will provide benchmarks for settlement activity across various commercial loan categories and track broker sentiments and forward estimates related to loan settlements and business confidence.
CAFBA CEO David Bushby expressed enthusiasm about the program’s potential: “CAFBA has always been a strong advocate for our member brokers. This new data will elevate our efforts, helping us identify educational needs and address the key issues facing our members.”
A standout feature of the Broker Pulse: Commercial Lending program is its provision of valuable insights to lenders. This will facilitate better feedback loops, drive improved performance and competition, and ultimately enhance client service and market innovation. Johnson highlighted the importance of this visibility: “In today’s competitive market, commercial brokers need to know which lenders are active and offering the best service levels. This program will provide a comprehensive monthly overview of the market.”
The program will also utilize data from Lend to track trends in commercial products. This data will help lenders and brokers stay informed about evolving product demand and competition, enabling quicker loan approvals and higher conversion rates. Andrew Beckett, head of broker and third-party distribution at Lend, emphasized the program’s goal: “We’re focused on putting brokers and their clients at the center of the discussion, allowing brokers to guide their clients toward the best financial outcomes with the support of detailed data.”
Bushby added that this data will empower brokers to offer the best finance options to their clients by revealing trends and lender appetites.
Brokers are encouraged to participate in the monthly surveys, which occur every three months, to stay engaged and benefit from insightful reports and prize draws. These insights will aid brokers in benchmarking their performance, informing their teams, and enhancing interactions with lenders.
